Washington DC Photographer Jay L. Clendenin: Portrait Photography, Political Photography and Photographic Essays

Photographing people and the things they do for more than 10 years, Jay was an award-winning newspaper photojournalist before leaving to pursue freelance work in editorial and commercial assignment photography, with a base in Washington, D.C.

With a broad specturm of coverage, taking him from the White House and Capitol Hill in Washington, to GITMO, to traveling across the country with Presidential candidate John Kerry, Jay has been on assignment for Time, Newsweek, U.S. News & World Report, People, Business Week and many foreign publications. In addition to his life in politics, Jay has eagerly welcomed his newest life-long project; documenting every move of his baby daughter, Tess and the shared experience with his wife, Nancy.

Jay is enjoying every opportunity received to record the history of the moment and has earned numerous awards from the National Press Photographer's Association (NPPA), Pictures of the Year International (POYi) and the White House News Photographer's Association (WHNPA).
